With an unprecedented quadruple still on the cards this season, Liverpool switch their focus to the next campaign momentarily, unveiling their new home shirt for 22/23 from Nike.
Liverpool are flying high right now, with an FA Cup final and Champions League final to look forward to, along with the ongoing pursuit of Man City in the Premier League. But the club take a brief pause from that hunt for glory to unveil their new home shirt, which comes with a new no-nonsense design inspired by the attitude of ‘Scouse solidarity’, ditching the crimson flashes from this season to align with Bob Paisley's original vision.
The all-red home shirt features intricate YNWA detailing on the sleeve cuff, while on the reverse of the jersey, the 97-emblem encased by the eternal flames sits at the nape of the neck in memory of those who lost their lives at Hillsborough.
Like the new Corinthians jersey, the shirt offers an early look at the new Nike authentic 22/23 Vaporknit template, which features a new knit pattern and the Dri-Fit Adv logo on the back rather than on the front.
The club has introduced a new LFC name and number style for the back of shirt, which also takes inspiration from the city, with a contemporary take on Liverpool’s historic street signs. The product is printed with water-based inks as a more sustainable option and will be worn for cup competitions and friendlies.
Liverpool FC captain, Jordan Henderson, said: “We’re all so proud to wear the Liverpool FC jersey and be part of the swoosh family. We know exactly what this jersey means to our fans, and we can’t wait to run out in it at Anfield.”
The Liverpool 22/23 home shirt will be available at prodirectsoccer.com from 19 May.
