Lyon Use Lacazette Unveiling To Reveal 22/23 Home Shirt

With his contract at Arsenal having expired, Alexandre Lacazette has made the switch back to Olympique Lyon, a club he originally joined in 2003 at the age of 12, and the club have used his unveiling to also reveal their new home shirt for the 22/23 season.

Shirt unveilings can get a bit extravagant at times, but Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon have decided to kill two birds with one stone by welcoming back prodigal son Alex Lacazette, one of the greatest strikers in its history, along with their new home shirt. The French international was unveiled on social media and he was decked out in the French side’s new threads for the coming campaign.

Last season’s home shirt saw the return of a classic look, first debuted in the 70s, and then again as the club won six of their seven consecutive titles, starting in 2001/02. It arrived with a traditional white base, but veered into classic territory with a stripe running down the left of the chest, incorporating the blue and red that make up the club’s classic colours. And for this year’s offering it’s more of the same, with a simple switch that sees that stripe moved into a central position. The Three Stripes on the shoulders adopt the same blue/red colouring, giving the design a complete and bespoke feel. The collar once again reverts to a crew neck, as it was in 20/21.

The Lyon 22/23 home shirt will be available at prodirectsoccer.com in the near future.
