After a brief fling with the Jumpman, PSG return to Nike, unveiling their new Swoosh-adorned 22/23 Nike home kit, which sees a reverse hechter stripe design and central crest and branding.
Last season saw Jordan get a switch up from their usual supporting role on away, third and fourth shirts, with the Jumpman promoted to the home shirt for a final flourish that signalled the end of the PSG’s exclusive deal with the brand. Now it’s back to more familiar territory for the Ligue 1 side, with their new home shirt from Nike headlined by the return of the Hechter stripe with a twist: a white central stripe trimmed with red cuts through PSG’s signature blue.
The 22/23 home shirt sees Qatar Airways as the new official front-jersey sponsor for the first time, despite the partnership having been in force since 2020. The positioning of the Airline’s name sitting smack bang in the middle of the centrepiece of the shirt’s design. The club crest and Swoosh take on a central position, running down the middle of the Hechter stripe for a nice note of symmetry.
As with all of Nike’s major shirt releases for 22/23, the PSG home shirt arrives in the new Nike authentic 22/23 Vaporknit template, which features a new knit pattern. It’s the 2022 World Cup template that Nike will use for the upcoming tournament in Qatar, getting a run out ahead of the December showpiece. The modern, fitted template is designed to allow more dynamic movement thanks to panel cuts inspired by base-layer compression wear.
The PSG 22/23 home shirt will be available at prodirectsoccer.com from 8 July.
