Arriving with a design that symbolises the bond uniting the club to its fans, Olympique Lyon have unveiled and then debuted their new 22/23 away shirt from adidas in their back-to-back preseason friendlies with Dynamo Kyiv.
Following the reveal of their new home shirt, which didn’t make any drastic alterations from last season, Lyon have unveiled their new away shirt for 22/23, and again it’s not a massive shift from last season’s offering. The design nods to the fervour of the Lyonnais supporters, taking inspiration from the visuals of the flares that are set off both in the Groupama Stadium and on the road, showcasing the traditional colours of the club and the city, red and blue.
OL faced Dynamo Kyiv in a pair of preseason matches on 12 June, and they took the opportunity to show off their new kit. After losing the first game 1-3, Lyon turned the tide in the second match to win 3-0.
The design sees a red base overlaid with an ethereal sublimated smoke graphic in blue, representing the flares. The branding, both on the shoulders and chest, along with the sponsor come in a contrasting white to ensure visibility.
The Lyon 22/23 away shirt will be available at prodirectsoccer.com in the near future.
