One brand has been absolutely knocking it out of the park with their kit releases for 22/23, and it is Macron. Now, the next club to get some beautifully bespoke treatment from them is Italian Serie B side SPAL. Their new home shirt arrives in the club’s traditional blue and white stripes, but with some added detail that elevates the design.

There’s something of a false truth about home football shirt designs being restricted by tradition, often leading to bland and uninspired offerings. But it certainly doesn’t have to be the case, and Macron have put in a strong case with their latest design for Italian side SPAL.  The 22/23 home shirt features the traditional blue and white stripes, but the three central bands of blue come with a slightly greater width on which, with a tone-on-tone print, the full name of the club is repeated: Società Polisportiva Ars et Labor, from which the famous acronym S.P.A.L. is derived. It’s a stroke of genius.

The shirt features a knitted polo collar and three-button placket, while the back-neck is customised with the club’s blue and white colours, its social logo, and the motto "NON CAMMINERAI MAI SOLA” (You’ll never walk alone – heard that somewhere before…).

The home kit is completed by white shorts containing blue vertical bands on the hips and on the thigh edge, and white socks displaying blue horizontal stripes of varying sizes on the upper edge. The shirt, designed to be fashionable in Slim Fit, is composed primarily of Eco Softlock fabric and is enhanced by the presence of Eco Mesh inserts, which ensure a practical lightness and perfect breathability.

The SPAL 22/23 home shirt is available today on store.spalferrara.it and in the Official SPAL Stores.
