Perhaps not as wild as we were expecting, Nike launch the Tottenham Hotspur 22/23 away shirt, which features volt accents to tie it in with the club’s new home shirt design. The new kit will debut during Sunday’s pre-season friendly with Sevilla FC in Korea.
The new Spurs home shirt dropped back at the beginning of June, and the clean Lily white canvas that the club has been using the past 124 years was elevated by the return of the navy trim and the presence of the volt details within. It's a look that's been widely well received, and so giving a nice connective thread to the Spurs 22/23 wardrobe, Nike have carried that volt colouring on into the new away shirt.
If we’re being honest, on the back of last season’s away shirt we were expecting something a little more radical from this season’s effort. As it is though it arrives in a deep lapis blue shade finished with black sleeves and the aforementioned flashes of volt on the neckline and cuffs, with the Club’s famous cockerel emblem front and centre along with the Swoosh.
As with all of Nike’s major shirt releases for 22/23, the Spurs away shirt arrives in the new Nike authentic 22/23 Vaporknit template, which features a new knit pattern. It’s the 2022 World Cup template that Nike will use for the upcoming tournament in Qatar, getting a run out ahead of the December showpiece. The modern, fitted template is designed to allow more dynamic movement thanks to panel cuts inspired by base-layer compression wear.
