Who says that only the premium teams can pull out all the stops for their new kit launches? Well certainly no one told League One side Peterborough United that anyway, as The Posh have gone all out for their 22/23 home shirt launch, which focuses on the heartbeat of the club: the people of the city.
From local supporters of all ages and backgrounds, to local entrepreneurs and club legends, and even some canine friends, Peterborough United have pulled everyone in to help launch their new home shirt for the 22/23 season from PUMA. The club wanted to pay tribute to the the community – the people that make the club what it is – and they did so with local fans from all different backgrounds modelling the traditional blue home kit in a special launch video.
Club legend and director of football Barry Fry stars in the launch alongside current first team players Jeando Fuchs, Joe Ward and Jonson Clarke-Harris as well as former strikers Craig Mackail-Smith and Aaron McLean. talkSPORT Drive presenter and lifelong Posh supporter Adrian Durham also poses in the new kit.
The shirt itself features a blue base with a sublimated criss-cross effect, while white trim on collar, cuffs, sponsor and branding rounds out the look, with the final sign off coming on the rear nape of the neck with the phrase “Proud to be Posh”.
For the launch, the club Broughton board Peterborough-based Digital Marketing agency The Ivy Rose Agency, who worked alongside club photographers and videographers to produce the video and imagery.
Peterborough United’s Marketing Manager, Jake Baxter, said: “This year, we wanted to really champion local fans and the local community that is essentially the heart of Peterborough United. We are extremely proud to be able make local supporters and local businesses the hero within the campaign for the 2022/23 home kit campaign.
“Across the course of the upcoming season we will be championing these people and businesses that make the city what it is, giving them a platform to talk about what the city – and this kit – means to them.”
