With the new year comes the preparation for a new J-League season, and getting suitably suited up for the challenge ahead, FC Tokyo have revealed their new home and away shirts for 2023 from New Balance.
The new J-League season gets underway next month, and so you can expect to see the competing sides unveiling their new kits in the coming weeks, just as FC Tokyo have done. As with previous seasons, the capital city side take care of business in one hit, revealing both their home and away shirts for 2023 at the same time, with New Balance providing subtle switch ups to the team’s traditional look.
For the home shirt then that means the same blue and red stripes, in what is something of a spot-the-difference from last season. The most obvious change comes with the introduction of a polo collar and single button placket. The hint of yellow around the neck from last season is gone… and that’s about it for changes, aside from their sponsor mixing up their logo a bit. Not a big departure at all really.
The away shirt comes with a slightly bigger variation on last season’s option, moving away from the pinstripe hoops to what is basically a white version of the home shirt. The stripes are subtly shaded, but are present nonetheless, while the collar and cuffs are finished with the club’s red and blue colours.
