With a design that pays homage to Barça’s history and a jersey worn by the late, great Johan Cruyff, Barcelona launch their 23/24 away kit from Nike.
Joining the already released home shirt, Barcelona have introduced their away kit for the 2023/24 season, which has an innovative design that pays tribute to the man who developed Barça’s playing style, Johan Cruyff. Jin the same way that the home kit harks back to the spirit of the Barça Women’s team that played their first ever game at the Spotify Camp Nou in 1970, the pioneering figure of Cruyff has provided inspiration for this kit.
Based on the second kit worn by the Blaugranes during the 1970s, the jersey is predominantly white, and features red and blue stripes on the sleeve cuffs. White shirts feature prominently throughout Barcelona’s history, with players like Alcántara, Samitier, César and Kubala, among others, having worn a white jersey between the 1920s and 1970s. Cruyff also wore white on several occasions, like on 1 March 1978 during a UEFA Cup game against Aston Villa, when he captained and led the team. Furthermore, iconic crest the Club used in 1978 is used to cement the tie to the Cruyff era.
