It’s almost October, and ready for the festivities that the month brings in Germany, Adidas and Bayern Munich have unveiled their traditional Oktoberfest jersey for 23/24, which is set for its debut in tonight’s games.
It’s become something of a tradition for Bayern Munich to get a special kit for Oktoberfest, and adidas once again don’t disappoint, rolling out the green hues once more, ready for the celebrations to come. For this year’s version, like the Champions League third kit, the shirt features a sketched mountain flower pattern and the club emblem from the founding charter on the chest.
The fresh "Magic Lime" colour is reminiscent of the term ‘Wiesn’, which translates as ‘field’ and is how the Oktoberfest is affectionately known. On the inside at the back of the neck is an edelweiss flower and small lettering ‘Wiesn 2023’. The name and number on the back are off-white.
The new Oktoberfest kit will be worn for the first time in the home match against Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena tonight, but that will be preceded by the women’s team, who will also debut the design for their opening league game away at Freiburg slightly earlier.
