Chapecoense 23/24 Third Shirt From Umbro Celebrates Club’s 50th Anniversary

Continuing their 50th anniversary celebrations, Brazilian side Chapecoense and Umbro Brasil have launched Verdão do Oeste's new 2023/24 third shirt. The design is a mashup of graphics from five previous shirts already produced by Umbro, each one celebrating a decade of the club.

Brazilian side Chapecoense is celebrating 50 years since its foundation, and of the 50 years celebrated in 2023, 13 of them have been alongside Umbro. And so, to highlight this long-standing partnership, the 23/24 third shirt arrives as a mashup of five iconic Chape shirts created by the brand with unique graphics developed for the design. Most prominent amongst the featured designs is that of the 2016 third shirt, which also saw a light green centre stripe on a darker green background.

Highlighting the colour green, the shade symbolic of the team from Santa Catarina, the mashup of graphics is present throughout the new kit, which is predominantly dark green and has a vertical stripe in a lighter green tone.

To make this launch even more special, Umbro Brasil developed a special label for Chape's 50th anniversary. Located on the hem of the shirt, it features the stylised number 50 next to the acronym ACF and the years 1973 and 2023, along with graphics and the words “Chapecoense, you are always Chapecó since 1973”, in an adaptation taken from the club's anthem.

Chapecoense is one of our oldest and most beloved partners," said Eduardo Dal Pogetto, national brand director at Umbro. "Its 50 years represent a milestone for Brazilian football and should be celebrated by everyone who loves this sport. We see Chape as an unparalleled milestone in our trajectory with the ball, an example of overcoming, strength and resilience, which brings great glories in football and always brings a lot of hope to all the fans and the people of Chapecó.”
