River Plate Reveal & Debut 23/24 adidas Away Shirt

Argentinian side River Plate revealed then debuted their new away shirt for 23/24 over the weekend, wearing the unapologetically brash new design in the 1-1 draw with Banfield.

Drawing inspiration from the stylings of the adidas-produced away shirt that was in use from 1994-97, River Plate have revealed their new away shirt, which also comes from the Three Stripes. The shirt will be in use for the rest of 2023 and into 2024, and it got its debut this weekend, shortly after the reveal, featuring in the 1-1 Primera Division draw with Banfield.

The look is a bold nod to the designs of the 90s, and it sees a the red bottom section and black top section interrupted by a loud, white zigzag stripe across the chest, within which sits the Three Stripe branding and the club crest. It's bordered by black, while the branding contrasts on teh shoulders in white. The sponsor then sits in the red section in white. Red shorts complete the kit look, flowing seamlessly from the lower section of the shirt.

That white zigzag execution is a nod to the sheer volume and electric feel of “From here to Núñez”, the traditional song that fans sing to proudly show the sense of belonging that unites them with the Club.
