While EA7 have undoubtedly upped their game with the quality of their kit designs for Napoli this season, it doesn’t appear that there’s going to be any let up with the quantity, with the recent reveal and debut of the club’s 23/24 Halloween kit.
If one thing has stood out about EA7’s tenure as kit producer for Napoli, it’s that they produce a lot. Any occasion, any reason, there’ll be a kit for it. Some are OK, some we could live without, but it has certainly seemed like quantity over quality. This season, however, it felt like there might have been a bit of a change, with the quality of Napoli’s home, away and third shirts catching some approving glances. While the design team have clearly upped their game though, apparently the production team have not let up either, with the club recently revealing then debuting their latest ‘Halloween kit’.
Although we’ve only just come into October and Halloween is still several weeks away, the kit debut came in this weekend’s 3-1 defeat at the hands of Fiorentina. Scary stuff indeed for Napoli fans.
The kit itself features a black base with blue trim, tying in with the name and number set. But the real feature of the shirt is the all-over skull graphic. It’s inspired by the Fontanelle Cemetery in Naples, and ramps up the creepy factor from the 21/22 cobweb design and the 22/23 shirt which was, quite frankly, a bit batty. No, here it’s proper spooksville, particularly when you take a look at the real life inspiration.
The design is finished with monochrome branding and club crest, and the shirt is presented in a special edition box, for those interested. While we’re not in for the hundred-shirts-per-season approach, this halloween shirt, like the club’s home, away and third, is definitely better than pervious seasons efforts.
