AIK Reveal & Debut Special Allsvenskan 100-Year Kit

Reinforcing their position as one of the most stylish and elegant sides out there today, AIK have revealed and quickly debuted a retro-fuelled cup jersey that celebrates 100 years of Allsvenskan.

This year marks a century since the inauguration of Allsvenskan, Sweden’s top football league. AIK, being one of the original teams from 1924, have been part of the league since the start, and over 100 years Allsvenskan has shaped AIK, and AIK has shaped Allsvenskan. So it stands to reason that the club pay homage to the 100-year anniversary, and they do so in the way only they can – by releasing another beautiful kit.

To celebrate the anniversary, AIK revealed and debuted a cup jersey inspired by the one worn by the team back in 1924 ahead of their Svenska Cupen match against Örebro. The jersey is beautifully simplistic black with yellow details and a v-neck collar. The look is accomplished thanks to the gracious nature of the club’s partners, who have given up their space on the jersey, including Nike, who have had the special execution of the brand logo, with the word “Nike” overlaid across the Swoosh (a move that seems to be reserved for AIK only in the footballing world) blacked out. Also of note, this is the first time during AIK and Nike's collaboration that the team played in a long sleeved shirt.

The shirt is made of 100 percent recycled polyester and the black details are crafted by hand in 3D silicone to enable the highest possible richness of detail. On the chest we see the letters "AIK" in yellow. These letters, as well as the numbers on the back, are made of velvet and have an embroidered outer edge. The jersey arrives in a specially designed product box inspired by the Stockholms Stadion, which was AIK's home arena in 1924.

There’s only 133 units of the cup jersey available, as the club celebrates 133 years in 1924. These will be distributed through a raffle open to the club's season ticket holders. Registration for the raffle will be open between the 17 and 24 of February. On 24 February the winners will be announced, after which they will be able to purchase the cup jersey at a cost of SEK 1199.
