Inspired by the five lakes of Madison, represented by the vertical stripes, Forward Madison FC have revealed their away shirt for 2024 from Hummel. For the fifth consecutive season, the away kit was designed with the help of the club’s independent supporters group, The Flock.
USL side Forward Madison have built a reputation as having some of the most bespoke kits in the game, thanks to their ongoing partnership with Danish brand, hummel, who have been dressing them out since their debut in 2019. That reputation is further strengthened through the club’s new away shirtier 2024, dubbed ‘The Rhythm Of The Lakes’, which has once again been designed by The Flock, FMFC's independent supporters group.
“Supporters collaborating with their club on a uniform is unique in itself, but a portion of sales going directly to local youth soccer initiatives makes this tradition something altogether different and special.” said Flock member and kit collaborator, Andrew Schmidt. “When our team suits up away from home, they’re playing for Madison and the pride of the fans, sure—but more importantly they’re playing for the future of the game here.”
The Rhythm of the Lakes kit is a full white uniform that features five pink and blue, gradient lines down the front, each representing one of the five lakes of Madison: Mendota, Monona, Waubesa, Kegonsa, and Wingra. The cuffs and collars of the kit detail the drumbeats of “We Are Madison” from the supporter’s section on a Forward Madison game day.
“There’s something about wearing white kits on the road that I love,” said four-year Flamingo, Derek Gebhard. “Our supporters nail the kits every year, but this one’s pretty different from the last three years I’ve been here – I think [this year’s] my favorite away kit so far!”
