Making strides into new and exciting avenues, Italian Serie C side S.P.A.L. have unveiled their new away shirt from Macron for the 24/25 season, and it’s been created in collaboration with streetwear label, SLAM JAM.

Serie C side Società Polisportiva Ars et Labor, more commonly known as S.P.A.L, are based in Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. It’s a home they share with world-renowned streetwear label, SLAM JAM, so the fact that the club’s latest away shirt from Macron has had a helping hand from them makes absolute sense. First revealed at Paris Fashion Week 2024, the jersey represents the beginning of a wider collaboration between the two entities from Ferrara.

The design maintains all the traditional references you’d expect from a S.P.A.L jersey, but revisits them in a modern and innovative way, with clever graphics and a distinctive look. It arrives in the club’s traditional striped look, more commonly associated with the side’s home shirts, but instead of the classic blue and white, it comes in black and silver – the colours of SLAM JAM – with a “Noise” effect background. The graphics in the centre of the shirt are particularly effective, where the stripes invert to create an optical illusion of sorts. S.P.A.L.’s usual ‘Columbia’ blue is still present in the neck details, the contrasting bottom hem stitching and the ‘S.P.A.L. FERRARA.’ print behind the neck. Also at the bottom of the shirt is a custom tape bearing the SLAM JAM logo and name alongside the logo and motto of the club: ARS et LABOR.

The inside neck features a black label with silver border, bearing the SLAM JAM logo and the S.P.A.L. badge with the motto ‘Ars et Labor’ once again. Silicone printed on the right of the chest are the Macron Hero logo with the SLAM JAM logo sat just below, while the S.P.A.L. crest sits in its usual position on the left of the chest, over the heart. The kit is completed by black shorts with side bands that repeat the graphics of the shirt with silver stripes around the hem.

SLAM JAM have been flirting with a move into the game with collaborations with Umbro in recent years, and a recreation of an iconic AC Milan kit back in 2022, but this represents a proper entrance into the performance space for the label. Meanwhile, S.P.A.L. have been receiving some nice jerseys from Macron in recent years, and this is a nice follow on and a natural progression for the side and their partnership with Macron.
