adidas Launch Newcastle 24/25 Third Shirt

Throwing back to the 90s for some inspiration, adidas have launched the Newcastle United third shirt for the 24/25 season. It sees a fusion of the brand’s iconic EQT line with the club’s rich history, and will be worn on pitch for the first time by the men’s team on 3 August.

Newcastle United and adidas are rekindling their relationship for the 24/25 season, and for the club’s new third shirt, they’re dipping back into the era when they first hooked up – the 90s. For this, adidas have turned to their iconic EQT line, using that recognisable EQT Green as an accent colour on the crisp white base. It features on the sleeves and side panels, injecting a bold dose of retro energy, while black details through the collar and Three Stripes on the shoulders round out the look. But that’s not all.

Joining that EQT streetwear aesthetic to further amplify the nostalgic design is the reimagined club crest from the 1980s. The NUFC letters with the club’s emblem, the magpie is proudly displayed to solidify the club's identity and heritage for a new generation.

The new kit will be worn on pitch for the first time by the men’s team during the Pre-season tour in Tokyo against Yokohama F. Marinos, on the 3 August.

Inigo Turner, Design Director at adidas Football, said: “The 2024/25 third kit is a perfect blend of classic and contemporary design. We wanted to tap into the raw energy and nostalgia of the '90s, a period synonymous with both adidas EQT and the re-emergence of Newcastle United’s iconic presence on the pitch. This kit is a love letter to that era, blending classic design elements with a modern streetwear edge that resonates with fans of all generations.

Peter Silverstone, Chief Commercial Officer at Newcastle United Football Club, said: "adidas has a deep understanding of Newcastle United's DNA, and that is clear to see in the design of our new third kit.

"From the use of the club's nostalgic 1980s crest, through to a design evoking Sir Bobby Robson's team at the turn of the millennium, it is an innovative approach to a classic kit.

"We look forward to seeing the team wearing it for the first time in Japan, and to seeing our fans around the world wearing their colours with pride across the exciting season ahead."
