Up-and-coming design-centric Italian brand Ezeta have signed their first professional team in Serie C side Latina Calcio, and the club’s new home and away shirts for 24/25 are as bold and beautiful as we’ve come to expect.

Italian brand Ezeta have been catching attention over the last couple of years for their beautifully bespoke and creative designs for non-league sides in the Rome region. Now, marking a huge step for the burgeoning brand, they reveal the first shirts for a professional team, having signed on as technical partners for Serie C side, Latina Calcio 1932. As well as being truly unique, the shirt designs are also steeped in story, as has become the calling card of the brand.

For the design of the Latina Calcio 1932 home and away shirts, Ezeta looked to Greek mythology, and specifically Ulysses, better known these days by his Roman name, Odysseus. During Homer's The Odyssey, Ulysses encountered the sorceress Circe, who lived on the island of Eea, known today as the Circeo Promontory. Located in the Province of Latina, it’s a unique and iconic island, a historical and natural landmark for the entire Pontine coastline.

Circe is famous in Greek mythology for her power to transform men into animals through the use of potions and spells with her magic wand. A symbol of seduction and female power, she has often been associated with the image of the dangerous and fatal woman.

Homer recounts the meeting between Ulysses and the sorceress Circe in the tenth book of the Odyssey, an episode depicted on a famous 5th-century BC vase attributed to Persephone.

And it’s from this vase that both the home and away jerseys draw inspiration, borrowing from the floral and Greek geometries that decorate its ancient surface. The home shirt sees a black and blue striped formation, with black as the base colour and the borders from the vase translated into a graphic on the blue portion.

The away shirt then sees a white base with a subtle graphic joined by the same blue element presented as a sash that runs diagonally across the body. The look is finished off with the same graphic on the collar and cuffs.

As is often the case with Ezeta’s projects, a wider rebrand for the club has also taken place, here developed in collaboration with the Modì agency in order to highlight the historical and characteristic elements of the Club. The main focus of that is a new club crest, which sees a winged lion as the main feature, spread across a shield. The wings extend out from the emblem, making it unique, and the word Latina is clearly visible at the top.

The Latina Calcio 1932 24/25 home and away shirts are available at ezeta.it and in the Latina Store for pre-order.
