adidas Launch 95/96-Inspired Newcastle United 24/25 Away Shirt

Harking back to the 95/96 season when the team were fondly known as ‘The Entertainers’, adidas have revealed the design for Newcastle United’s away shirt for the 24/25 season.

Newcastle United and adidas are back together, and following on from a solid home shirt and a more adventurous third shirt, we now get a retro-fuelled away option to complete the 24/25 wardrobe for the Magpies. The new away kit is inspired by the nail-biting 1995/96 season, during which, under Kevin Keegan’s guidance, the team became known as the Entertainers. Aside from the lack of iconic Newcastle Brown Ale sponsor and with a slight tweak to the club crest, this is a pretty faithful recreation of the shirt that was originally produced by adidas in their first stint with the club, which lasted from 1995 to 2010.

Incorporating classic navy and burgundy horizontal stripes – synonymous with the iconic season – the re-imagined jersey offers a contemporary approach, thanks to the monochromatic club crest, distinguishing it from its 90s predecessor. To finish it off, the jersey is crafted with a white rounded collar, delivering a fresh aesthetic for the club’s next generation.

Inigo Turner, design director at adidas, said: “Our renewed partnership with Newcastle United has allowed us to revisit some of the most iconic moments in the club’s history. The 1995/96 season holds a special place in the hearts of the fans, and we are proud to bring back the spirit of that era with this new away kit. We look forward to seeing the team create new memories in this classic yet contemporary design.
