SV Werder Bremen and hummel are giving a proper send-off to a club icon, dropping a special Legend Jersey to mark Diego’s farewell from professional football. A throwback to the 2006/07 kit the design lands in Werder’s unmistakable green and white, with a bold hit of orange adding extra flair.
In his very first season at the club, Diego announced himself to the world and to the Green and White faithful in emphatic fashion, scoring a goal from over 62.5 meters against Alemannia Aachen to make it 3-1 – a notch that ended up being the Goal of the Year 2007. In total, the now 40-year-old Brazilian played 132 matches for the Green-Whites in the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, Europa League, and Champions League, scoring 54 goals in total. So it is that he has legendary status at the club, and with him announcing his retirement from the game, they honour him with a special edition jersey, produced by hummel.

With Diego’s iconic name print and the legendary number 10 on the back, the jersey is a true tribute to the football artist. Green side stripes feature lettering and stars, while the Werder diamond with the championship star sits proudly in the centre of the chest, just above the main sponsor, MATTHÄI. A piece of history, reimagined for one final dance.
On 22 March, Diego will return to the Weserstadion, wearing the Werder Bremen colours one final time. The former number 10 will play his official farewell match together with some of his friends and former colleagues such as Nani, Quaresma, Mertesacker, Frings, Baumann and Naldo, all wearing the special edition kit.
But the tribute doesn’t stop with the shirt—an exclusive lifestyle collection is also dropping, featuring a scarf, cap, bucket hat, and T-shirt, alongside the full kit with matching shorts and socks.
