Football Boots - adidas New Boots Update

Football Boots - adidas New Boots Update

The SoccerBible spent last night in the exclusive company of adidas as we were treated to an intimate preview and play test of the new adidas football boots range - including the highly anticiapted and much rumoured update to the F50 series.

Released to the public in July 2009, the new F50 series will continue in the TUNiT modular series with inter-changeable studs and chassis and an all new synthetic upper. Of course, it's all very well telling you about the boots, because we'd much rather be showing you all there is to see of this awesome new boot. However, as part of the event last night adidas made us promise to keep them under wraps for just a little bit longer (boo!). But rest assured the best things come to those who wait, so SoccerBible fans won't have to make do with sneaky camera-phone shots, photoshopped attempts or scanned catalogue images that do the rounds when new boots are announced.

We can also reveal there will be plenty of colour options available, with all adidas F50 contracted players stepping out in the Cyan/White colour option first. So expect to see players like Shaun Wright-Phillips, Ashley Cole, Ashley Young and a big campaign around Leo Messi when the boot launches at the end of May/early June. There will also be black/white and a full grain black leather upper, with releases later in the year sporting the new adidas Champions League look of white/black/red.

The preview event also gave our intrepid boot play testers the chance to put the new F50 through it's paces, and immediately what is noticeable is the improved fit of the boot. The upper is slightly wider than that of an F50.9, but will still make use of all the existing components - so if you're already an F50 player, you'll be able to dive straight in with a brand new upper. The visual look of the upper has changed with the Alles Klar section reduced and a revision to the lace cover, which still gives a smooth clean striking area. We'll naturally reveal our full in-depth playtest along with all the information you'll need so keep checking back very soon!
