The brief for designing the new Puma v1.10 football boots was - to give you the confidence to be your fastest. And considering Puma make running shoes for the fastest man on the planet Usain Bolt, you can expect the v1.10 to deliver!
The Puma v1.10 is the next evolution in Puma's v1 speed range, and are the most innovative and radically designed football boots we've seen for a while! The boot is visually striking, and the Puma red/white/black colourway makes for a sleek look. These boots are due to be released on the 10th October for around £120 GBP, but you can be the first to get on the pitch with a pair by pre-ordering from the 25th September.
With performance, fit and speed the main objectives of the Puma v1.10 football boots, let's find out how Puma have achieved this with their new football boots...
Performance comes from a combination of synthetic materials that create a boot that gives great touch, feel and strike of the ball. The microfibre upper which covers the fore-foot and new lace-cover provides a great striking surface. Similar to a thin leather, it is soft and flexible, but has the advantages of being highly abrasive resistant and has a unique surface application to improve ball control and accuracy.
The medial and lateral quarter of the Puma v1.10 football boots are made from a new textile material, as featured on the v1.815 Ferrari boots, which is a strong material that has been treated with a dirt and repellent coating.
Puma have changed to a central lacing system for v1.10 football boots to improve fit, which combines with their "UNI construction" for a comfortable last and insole. The boot replicates Puma's AptoLast, as used in the v1.08 series, to give a glove-like fit and this construction has improved the softness of the toe area.
Speed performance comes from the one-piece outsole, which features carbon fibre embedded into the forefoot to distribute pressure and react to the foot flexing. In the midfoot of the sole-plate there is a TPU reinforcement shaped in a 'V' to help with stability and prevent the midfoot bending. And the studs are mounted on a lightweight frame, and shaped for smooth ground penetration to optimise traction.
The Puma red/white/black Puma v1.10 football boots offer an alternative to the very bold blazing yellow football boots, but features exactly the same performance attributes. Puma have created a boot that delivers on all their criteria, the v1.10 fits well, it offers great performance and is a pioneering speed boot. So it's no coincidence Puma have an association with both Ferrari and Usain Bolt!
