Nike Air Zoom Total 90 III Football Boots

Nike Air Zoom Total 90 III Football Boots

With the upcoming launch of the Nike T90 Laser III football boots, the SoccerBible has been taking a look back at some of the predecessors in the Total 90 series. Straight from the SoccerBible's Boot Vault is the Nike Air Zoom Total 90 III, a football boot that helped to evolve Nike's Total 90 range by delivering power and accuracy.

The Nike Air Zoom Total 90 Series was hugely successful since its invention in the spring of 2000, and the Total 90 III was an addition to the collection in 2004. The concept behind the AZT series was to develop a boot that would be supremely comfortable throughout the total 90 minutes of play.

With Nike now four years into the project, and the professional game becoming faster and more demanding, they had to take the Total 90 concept to new heights. And clearly the Air Zoom Total 90 III was a boot that impressed, boasting such wearers as Wayne Rooney, Luis Figo, Rio Ferdinand and Roberto Carlos.

The upper of the Nike Air Zoom Total 90 III football boots is made from soft and supple ultra-lightweight KNG-100. A synthetic material that gives supreme comfort, fit, ball feel and touch, further enhanced by the new asymmetrical integrated lacing system.

The poise and stability of the AZT III football boots is generated by the use of an externally contoured heel counter, with a design that mirrors the natural form of the foot, giving excellent stability throughout play whilst reducing risk of Achilles injury.

The midsole is made from a unique Nike injected phylon which provides supreme comfort and greatly reduces all stud pressure to the foot. And the added Heel Zoom Air unit maximises comfort and protection levels still further, giving the wearer performance confidence over the entire 90 minutes of play.

The outsole of the Nike Air Zoom Total 90 III football boots was re-engineered to provide maximum traction and stability on all pitch conditions. The soft ground sole unit features six detachable studs, and incorporates Nike's spinal structure bars which provide perfect support, motion control and improved stability.

The Nike Air Zoom Total 90 III football boots were the next generation of comfort, strength, stability and responsiveness. They helped to firmly establish the range as a rival to the adidas Predator series, as Nike continued their development and creation of the total boot for the Total 90 minutes of play!

Stay tuned to the SoccerBible as we reveal more soccer cleats from the Boot Vault, showcasing the best retro, classic and once forgotten boots and bringing them back to life!
