Nike Mercurial Vapor VI Elite Football Boots - Mach Purple/Black/Total Orange

Nike Mercurial Vapor VI Elite Football Boots - Mach Purple/Black/Total Orange

As the Nike Elite Series football boots officially go on order, the SoccerBible introduces the forgotten brother of the Mercurial collection - the Nike Mercurial Vapor VI. Check out the new football boots for yourself here on the SoccerBible with our exclusive first look feature...

The Nike Mercurial Vapor range has an army of loyal fans, who will be pleased to learn Nike have released this Elite-themed colour up for the Vapor VI. But lets get things sorted from the off - this is no "Elite" version of the Vapor VI - purely a colour up released to compliment the Elite range for this summer's massive football tournament.

The upper of the Nike Mercurial Vapor VI football boots is made from a soft and supple Teijin synthetic material, engineered to conform to your foot's shape for ultimate comfort. The re-engineered upper is enhanced with specifically placed ball-control coating on the lateral forefoot, to aid control of the ball at top speed, and the unique colourway and pattern is designed to help your team-mates find your feet!

Available in both traditional six stud soft ground (SG) and Vapor traction bladed firm ground (FG) sole plates, again incorporating a glass fibre chassis. Of course, the most noteable absence on the Vapor VI is there are no Nike Sense studs - which means the debate that followed the original Vapor VI release earlier this year can be definitively put to rest finally!

Acceleration and sprinting is further enhanced by concentrated forefoot zonal spikes, inspired by tracks spikes to optimise grip at toe-off for an extra burst of speed. The glass fibre chassis is lower profile designed to bring you closer to these new enhanced traction elements.

Of course the main point of difference for the Vapor series over the Superfly (other than the obvious) is the stretch-synthetic leather lace cover that adorns the Vapor. Intended to increase ball contact area for improved accuracy and touch, it provides players with a cleaner alternative to traditional exposed laces. Even if Nike do insist on calling it a "lace shroud" (we'll still call it a lace cover thanks).

The Vapor VI does retain the Mach Purple colourway of the Elite Series, something which is changed on the Miracle, Glide and Victory releases. Those other takedowns are finished with a more matte silver colour, making them easy to distinguish in both the changing room and on pitch!

We're looking forward to seeing our favourite Nike Mercurial Vapor players weaving their magic on pitches and with this unique colourway we're sure they won't be hard to spot! You can be the first to step onto pitch, and get your team-mates talking about the Nike Vapor VI football boots.

The Nike Mercurial Vapor VI goes on pre-order from today, 20th May - along with the rest of the Nike Elite Series. You can expect this innovative new speed boot to set you back around £180 GBP / $270 USD
