Puma v1.10 Kanji Football Boots - Flou Lime/Team Violet/White

Puma v1.10 Kanji Football Boots - Flou Lime/Team Violet/White

One thing Puma can never be accused of is being boring and less than inventive, they've shown on numerous occasions they've got a taste for the eccentric and have proven this once again by releasing these v1.10 Kanji football boots! Check out the SoccerBible's full and exclusive images and info...

In the current boot market, it's a fair comment to say the Puma v1.10 football boots stand alone in terms of design, construction and engineering. The boots are an infusion of ideas and materials born out of a simple design brief to "give you the confidence to be your fastest".

Having established the Puma designers have a taste for the eccentric, we have to confess we're not quite sure of the reasoning behind these Kanji versions, but can't deny they make for a great looking boot. "Kanji" are actually traditional Chinese characters used in modern Japanese writing, hence the scriptures adorning the boot, and if we understand correctly, the symbols on the toe mean 'speed'.

The Puma v1.10 is an evolution in speed and an evolution of the Puma v1 range, a range responsible for some of the most innovative and radically designed football boots we've seen. The Puma v1.10 football boots are visually striking, and this new colourway really sums up the range.

Performance comes from a combination of synthetic materials making up the boots upper, which deliver great touch, feel and strike of the ball. Covering the fore-foot and new lace-cover, the microfibre material provides a great striking surface, and is covered with a print application to increase friction, ball control and accuracy. This synthetic material is similar to a thin leather as it is soft and flexible, but has the advantages of being highly abrasive resistant.

The medial and lateral quarter of the Puma v1.10 football boots is made from a textile material. This strong material has been treated with a dirt and water repellent coating, and provides comfort around the ankle and collar area.Puma have changed to a central lacing system for the v1.10 football  boots, which improves the fit and combines with a comfortable last and  insole. The boot replicates Puma's AptoLast, which was used in the v1.08  series and received positive feedback from the players.

A bold design of the v1.10 football boots is the Puma form-stripe. Made from a thermo-plastic, the form-stripe is not just aesthetically pleasing, also its texture offers enhanced ball grip. And the thermo-plastic continues onto the instep of the boots, to add stability and support to the boot's shape and structure.

Speed performance comes from the one-piece outsole, which has carbon-fibre embedded into the forefoot to distribute pressure and react to the foot flexing. In the midfoot of the sole-plate there is a TPU reinforcement (shaped as a 'V') to help with stability and prevent the midfoot bending. The studs are mounted on a lightweight frame, and shaped for smooth ground penetration to optimise traction.

Expected to retail for around £135 GBP/ $200 USD, it's pleasing to see there is no price hike for these limited edition Puma v1.10 Kanji football boots with their Fluo Lime/Team Violet/White colourway. The boots are sure to receive a mixed reaction and we'd love to hear YOUR opinions, we'd also love to see the boots make it onto a professional pitch after their release on the 8th January!
