The Blur Pro is Under Armour's second venture into the speed market, after previously releasing the UA Create. And they've returned with a lightweight boot, designed to out-run and out-manoeuvre your opponents thanks to an innovative outsole, plus a few more tech advancements thrown in along the way!
Just by taking one look at the brand new Under Armour Blur Pro football boots, you begin to realise that UA are stepping up their game in the soccer market. They've already acquired Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, and we've been fortunate to have a sneak peek at some of their upcoming boots and can say that Under Armour have really elevated their efforts.
The Blur Pro uses an entirely seamless micro-fibre upper, with the exception of where the tongue attaches, for an upper designed to form to the shape of the foot, whilst the smooth finish is aimed at providing better ball control.
The stand-out design feature of the Under Armour Blur Pro Soccer Shoes is the perforation on the upper. Which despite being aesthetically unique, does have a performance benefit by aiding breath-ability and moisture control.
One of the huge design plus-points for the Blur Pro cleats, is the lightweight and innovative outsole. The Pebax outsole is where this boot steps up it's game and becomes a performance boot. A visibly wider fore-foot enhances underfoot stability and provides support for quick directional changes.
To further increase stability, comfort and add shock absorption, the Under Armour Blur Pro soccer cleats incorporate UA's Micro G cushioning and 4D foam. This anti-bacterial footbed forms to the foot and provides optimal comfort.
What Under Armour have set out to achieve with the Blur Pro, is a performance speed boot that doesn't just follow conventional methods. Yes this is certainly a lightweight boot weighing in around 200 grams, but is also acknowledges that speed isn't just about straight ahead, it's also about cutting, crossing, changing direction and speed of feet.
The new Black/Bolt Under Armour Blur Pro football boots are expected to retail worldwide for around £100 GBP/ $180 USD / €120 EURO, and are set for an official release late June/early July.
