The Colour of Speed - adizero Prime Collection
Rewind to the start of 2011 and adidas kicked off the year by announcing the arrival of their second generation adizero. Fast-forward to today and adidas' lightest football boot is attempting to pioneer a boot revolution.
The adizero miCoach succeeds one of the brands most successful boots. A boot that scored two goals in the 10/11 UCL Final. A boot that topped the 10/11 Premier League and Primera Division goal scoring charts. And a boot that has left the opposing pack chasing. Along with this, the second gen. adizero has given us some unique colourways! From the sublime to the bizarre, the adizero has certainly caught the eye. For all of this years adizero colourways, there will always be one that identifies the range. Lionel Messi broke records wearing the original Warning colourway, sending Barcelona to La Liga and Champions League glory. The Argentine broke the 50-goal barrier wearing his bright orange leather boots before single-handedly ending Real Madrid's European dream. 
If the Warning/Black/White colourway was too flash for some, the Black/White/Electricity supporting act offered the likes of Karim Benzema and Emmanuel Adebayor a great looking alternative. Real Madrid's strike duo at the time did their best to limit Messi-mania with a combined 34 goal tally, wearing the black colourway from January to May. 
While the White/Pink/Cyan colourway gave players including Gareth Bale a fresh colour update, it was still hard to escape the Warning/Black/White phenomenon, with Lionel Messi being just one of many players to enjoy long spells in the boot! In Germany Arjen Robben was leading Bayern Munich's late title surge wearing the orange speed boots, before eventually switching to the white leathers in April.
After three colourways since their Jan.1 launch, adidas went quiet on the adizero front, with speculation and rumours already surrounding a new boot model. As the end of the 10/11 season approached, adidas landed a wave of new adizero colourways to coincide with the Champions League final. 
Lionel Messi, David Villa and Dani Alves all stepped out onto the Wembley Stadium turf with adidas' most electrifying colours yet - the Anodized Purple/Electricity and Electricity/Purple. In true Messi style, the Barca man made sure adidas' new yellow boots made the back pages the next morning! 
Most recently adidas sent the adizero range out in style, releasing the most popular colourway since the boots launch. While the football world awaits the official on-pitch debut of the adizero miCoach, the Blue/White/Slime adizero continues to dominate the goal-scoring charts. They were quickly adopted by much of the adizero roster with players including David Silva, Samir Nasri and Fabio Coentrao being just some of the high-profile names.
