Leo Messi gave us a first glimpse at the new adi5 X-ite football shoes, when recently showing off his new signature street range. But here's a close-up look at four of the new adidas adi5 X-ite shoes, designed specially for the small sided game.
With a refreshing look, adidas' new adi5 X-ite trainers are ready to be unleashed into the ever-increasing world of 5-a-side football. Take a look and share your thoughts with the SoccerBible community online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
The number of players testing their skills on artificial surfaces is growing each year, as are the regulations over acceptable footwear. Turf shoes are in high demand, and after revealing the adi5 Turf, adidas have followed up with the adi5 X-ite to raise the bar for five-a-side performance, through a combination of synthetic leather, mesh and touch compound.
Featuring the touch compound grid to give you better ball control and a new stud configuration for faster cuts and instant acceleration into the box. The adidas adi5 X-ite shoes are available in a variety of eye-catching colour-schemes, to pick the one that most suits your team colours, or represents your skills.
One of the differences between the new adi5 X-ite and the adi5 turf shoes, is the more durable design. The upper features a larger coverage of synthetic leather with a highly abrasion-resistant synthetic overlay offering enhanced protection through the toe and heel areas. The toe area also features a mesh upper, for breathability and flexibility.
With minimal time on the ball in 5-a-side matches, your first touch is more crucial than ever. Adidas have recognised this and have developed their most control-enhancing shoe to date. With a strategically placed touch compound grid on the vamp and midfoot for better ball touch and control.
Comfort is taken care of through a pre-molded, lightweight EVA midsole and the adiPrene incorporation within the heel. During a five-a-side game, the heel area is subjected to forces equivalent to 8 times the players body weight. Through the adiPrene, this force is distributed evenly, providing enhanced comfort and stress impact.
A flexible, low-to-the-ground 5-a-side stud outsole offers quick moves and perfect ball touches. The new 5-a-side stud configuration has low-speed toe studs, round forefoot centre studs and triangular Traxion 2.0 studs for fast acceleration.
Lightweight, cushioned, supportive and offering great ball grip and control, the new adidas adi5 X-ite football shoes are expected to be available from early January, at a cost of around £45 GBP / $65 USD / €70 EURO.
