For a boot that has been in circulation since May 2010, the Mizuno Wave Ignitus series hasn't seen a great deal of colour treatment. After initially gaining recognition for the memorable Yellow/Black launch colourway, the Ignitus has built a strong reputation for its performance attributes as one of the games best all round football boots.
The Ignitus has developed into a boot that comfortably sits alongside the adidas Predator and Nike T90 Laser as an elite performer. Worn by a strong array of professionals from around the globe including Keisuke Honda, Mizuno's second generation Ignitus has maintained the boots momentum that began in the wake of the 2010 World Cup.
The focus for the Mizuno Wave Ignitus has always been on the innovative Mukaiten panel - a unique piece of technology exclusive to Mizuno that has been proven to aid the performance of players. The strategically placed panel on the instep of the boot is engineered to give the ball an unpredictable flight path - intended to confuse the opposition and goalkeeper.
Mizuno are famous for their fit and comfort - and the incorporation of Wave technology in the Mizuno Wave Ignitus II soccer shoes only further adds to this notion. The Wave tech improves cushioning and stability in the outsole which combined with the bladed stud configuration delivers unrivalled traction. The triple Pebax density heel counter also offers improved fit, comfort and improves protection from serious injury.
The Mukaiten panel is wrapped around by the 360 degree Bio Vamps, re-designed for the Ignitus II soccer shoes. The much more aggressive panels generate increased friction and control at ball contact, and have been integrated into a new lacing system which enlarges the striking area. As the panels continue to spread over the instep and forefoot, the Ignitus II offers enhanced control and power.
The new Green/Black/Orange Mizuno Wave Ignitus II football boots are available to pre-order from selected online retailers now for those eager to reserve a pair! The launch of the new Ignitus should be well in time for next season, with a launch/shipping date set for early June.
