Puma PowerCat 1.12 Munich Football Boots - White/Blue/Gold
Puma have released these Bavaria inspired PowerCat 1.12 football boots ahead of the Champions League final, a game which is being played in Puma's backyard in Munich. German giants Puma will therefore be hoping PowerCat wearer and Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas will make it through to this years UCL Final.
The special edition Puma PowerCat 1.12 Munich football boots are inspired by the white and blue lozenge or diamond design of the Rautenflagge, the state flag of Bavaria. Whilst the gold Puma Cat logo with black detailing references the colours of the Holy Roman Empire adopted by the city of Munich as their official colours at the time of Ludwig the Bavarian.
This isn't the first time we've seen Puma launch special edition football boots, as the PowerCat Tokyo football boots are still fresh in the mind, as are the gold versions designed for the World Cup final. Special Editions aside, Puma have quite a pedigree for designing bright and loud football boots and these Munich Editions are no exception.
For Cesc Fabregas - Puma's lead face of the PowerCat range - Barcelona's progression to the Champions League final will provide the boots with their worthy debut. Combine this with the potential of Bayern Munich reaching the final, and we could be looking forward to Mario Gomez in his v1.11's and Cesc Fabregas both sporting the Puma Munich Pack.
As a performance power boots, the Puma PowerCat 1.12 features advanced Puma technologies. The boot is a combination of engineering and comfort and with a significant design overhaul, looks and feels completely different to the previous incarnation. The versatility of the boot remains one of its strongest assets, with a variety of players including Gianluigi Buffon, Nigel de Jong, Giorgio Chiellini and Peter Crouch all wearing the boot.
The stand-out feature of the new PowerCat 1.12 is the 3D DUO Power Shooting Technology, applied to the kicking area on the inside of the boot. Made from an innovative thermoplastic material with two different degrees of hardness, the boot has the advantage of being both highly responsive with extremely high rebound properties.
The newly created Puma 3D PST DUO technology enables improved grip on the ball through its exposed elements, and instead of absorbing the energy it increases the kicking power of the player. The kicking area employs a soft K-Leather while the lightweight microfiber material in the lateral quarter supports the midfoot and helps to keep the weight of the boot to a minimum.
For support, stability and protection to the Achilles, the Puma PowerCat 1.12. Munich football boots have an asymmetrical external heel counter and a unique pointed stud configuration for traction. Whilst for comfort over 90 minutes, the new Puma PowerLast with added volume in the forefoot and instep combines with the stable yet flexible TPU sole-plate.
Launched in conjunction with the Champions League final, the new Puma Munich boot collection can be pre-ordered from now and will be available from April 30th.
