Nike CTR360 Maestri III Football Boots - White/Volt/Green
Nike's Fall/Winter 2012 collection gets one final addition with the arrival of the new White/Volt/Green CTR360 Maestri III. Now just three colourways in since the recent launch of Nike's third generation CTR, the Maestri III has been a huge hit since arriving on the scene.
The CTR360 Maestri III was Nike's first boot to feature All Conditions Control (ACC) technology - a feature that has now been included across each of Nike's four silos. As with the Sonic Yellow launch boot, Nike haven't held back on the design, delivering a striking White/Volt/Green combo - a hit or miss? Let us know.
The bigger story with Nike's new drop of colourways is of course ACC. An idea born out of discussions with professional players including Andres Iniesta, Nike designers understood the need for consistent touch and feel on the ball, especially in wet conditions. The ACC benefit is created by a special treatment during the development of the upper materials, to deliver the consistent feel on the ball at all times.
The weather is a factor affecting every footballer. In London alone during the season an average of 125 days will experience some rainfall. Players don't equip themselves with boots specific for dry or wet conditions, and so Nike have ensured a footballer can expect his boots to perform no matter how tricky passing or receiving a ball may be.
Enhancing ball control in both dry and wet weather, Nike All Conditions Control technology allows the boot's surface to maintain the same level of friction, touch and control for optimum performance. ACC ensures the surface of the boot upper delivers consistent friction between boot and ball in wet weather conditions.
The Nike CTR360 Maestri III has been re-engineered to deliver enhanced control, traction, support and lightweight comfort. Using next generation Kanga-Lite synthetic material for an assured touch and durability. The pass-pad has been revamped for 2012, featuring a 3D control pad which uses separate strips with fins of varying sizes to hug the arch and maximise contact with the ball.
An asymmetrical lacing system enlarges the area used to control the ball and a new streamlined design enhances touch sensitivity. A dimpled texture on the mid-foot doesn't just offer an aesthetics but also increases friction, once again aiding the players control and touch. The FG boots also use a more responsive sole-plate featuring a 360 degree stud placement; perfect for a midfielder's constant turns and cuts.
The White/Volt/Green Nike CTR360 Maestri III football boots are available to pre-order now ahead of an October 1st launch. The colourway will be worn by all headline CTR professional players including Andres Iniesta, Jack Wilshere and Ganso. Want to pick up a pair? They will retail worldwide for £145 GBP / €175 EURO / $190 USD (FG) and £155 GBP / €190 EURO / $210 USD (SG).
Football boots designed to deliver consistent levels of performance in all weather conditions is a significant step forward in boot design. We're keen to find out how the ACC Nike boots perform.
