Concave Launch Quantum 1 Football Boots
Concave have thrown themselves back in the game with their new Quantum 1 silo. Concave have their own concepts and theories which make them one of the most interesting and unique brands on the market and their new boot has been released in four colourways.
The Concave Quantum 1 is made from k-leather and microfibre that combines the brand's patented technology with their finest workmanship. Brands are always looking for ways to increase shooting power and accuracy and Concave's approach is intriguing - the boot naturally complements the convex shape of a football, creating a cup for the ball (think egg and spoon race). 
The idea of Concave's design is that players will be able strike the ball with more accuracy, control and power on a far more consistent basis as the boot has sweet spot four times larger than other football boots.
The standard football boot s sweet spot (the point of optimum power and accuracy) is along the natural ridge line of the instep on top of the foot. The sweet spot on a conventional football boot is approximately one centimetre wide and ten centimetres long. The Concave Quantum 1 increases the surface area of the sweet spot by up to four times. 
The boot does beg the questions, how often do you connect with the ball smack bang on the top of your boot? What about crossing/curling the boot? What happens when you connect with a volley and it catches the 'curb' of the Concave? It's got corner flag written all over it, surely? Kickers in rugby, yep, goalkeepers, probably, but we reckon outfield players will need a bit of convincing. The Concave is no doubt innovative but there are still many question marks surrounding it, although we can't deny we'd like to give them a go.
Concave have looked into other sports as part of their research and use the fact that tennis racquets and golf clubs with larger sweet spots influenced their sports by providing the player with a greater margin for error. The Concave element not only provides performance benefits but also a MetaGuard for protection of the metatarsal region; it's hard, it'll take a stud without any pain.
