World's first reflective boot gets a World Cup ready update.

Lotto Solista II Football Boots - Reflex Silver/Yellow

Italian brand Lotto are next to join the World Cup build up by giving the Solista, the world's first fully reflective football boot, a Brazilian inspired update with the release of the Reflex Silver/Yellow Solista II. The new colourway has a distinct South American flavour and is transformed under floodlights or camera flash.

The idea for the Solista was born from Lotto's philosophy "Be different". Some may have accused the boot's technology of being a bit flash in the pan, but considering adidas continued the trend with the enlightened pack, and suggestions of Nike following suit in the near future, Lotto are looking more and more like the trend setters.

By day the Solista's newly patterned upper is a not so inspiring shade of grey but come evening when the lights are on, the boots come to life in bright white. Either way there's no disguising the Solista II is geared up for Brazil 2014. The yellow, green and blue colour combo is a perfect match for Brazil's kit and the embroidered 'Mundial' meaning 'World' in Spanish, on the boots heel confirms their intention.

Performance wise Lotto have used a high-quality microfibre with smear reflector effect, which is applied on a single-piece upper with one single stitching on the heel. The idea of a single-piece upper is to deliver a snug, close fit that allows the most natural ball feel. The Solista is also waterproof meaning the boot won't weigh you down in wet weather.

The boot features a microfibre lining, removable EVA insole and microfibre tongue with padded central reinforcements to cushion the balls impact on the instep. The TX sole, a new concept from Lotto, features 12 two-tone TPU studs with double geometry - lamellar and triangular - to provide excellent traction both on landing and turning.

The new Reflex Silver/Yellow Lotto Solista II will available from selected stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer. What do you think of the new colourway? Let us know. Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
