The Swoosh swooped into Berlin on Champions League Final weekend to parade their latest boot innovation around the city in the form of the Hypervenom II. Ahead of the game at the Olympiastadion we were invited across town to join Mario Gomez and Thiago Alcantara at Union Berlin's Stadion An der Alten Försterei to lace up and trial the second generation boot.
Slipping into the Hypervenom II we were taken through a series of attack minded drills on the second divison club's turf by two Champions League winners, Bayern Munich's Thiago Alcantara and Fiorentina striker Mario Gomez. With Nike in town for the weekend it was an exhibition of the brand's latest product innovations, from the FootballX Berlin Arena to the OverKill 'Pitch to Pavement' celebrating how the game has influenced sneakers and how sneakers have influenced football boots.
The Nike Hypervenom II is available at select stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer. See more from the Nike FootballX Arena Berlin here.
