Leather joins laces and laceless options as adidas complete the full 'Blue Blast' collection. With the dust settling from said blast, a darker cloud of ash descends on the X 16.1 silo as the blue is submerged in black.
The Three Stripes are covering all bases this season when it comes to player choice, and the "Black/Shock Pink/Blue" leather edition offers players a safer, more traditional feel on the lightweight speed silo. The 'Blue Blast' aesthetics take a back seat towards the rear, heel and soleplate of the boot, while a "Shock Pink" adidas performance logo provides the finishing detail. Lashing of leather provide the points of contact with the ball.
Adidas will of course focus efforts on the ACE 17+ Purecontrol and X 16+ Purechaos on pitch, but a number of their professional players who prefer the softer leather touch will slip into this colourway – Thomas Muller and David Silva to name just a couple. Laces and leather? It's a blue blast from the past. Understated but never underrated.
