PUMA have showcased a blackout version of their new-generation silo ahead of its official launch later this week, and on first inspection its pretty damn spectacular. For this here is the PUMA Future 18 football boot, and it's different. And when different meets genuine innovation, greatness is achieved.
Something feels significant about this release compared to any other PUMA boot this decade. Something special. What we're looking at here could be the boot that allows PUMA to muscle into the mix, to finally leave that bronze podium, and to leave adidas and Nike chasing. This isn't the colourway that PUMA will launch the Future 18 in, but the silhouette has us counting down the days, for sure.
PUMA are keeping most of the tech under wraps until the launch, but what we do know is that the Future 2018 is all about them laces. PUMA have created a boot that is as dynamic as it is innovative by allowing players to completely shift the lace pattern depending on comfort and fit. The unique customisable lacing system is created by engineered net and form fitting base material to offer enhanced support whatever your foot shape. Yeah, that "Future" title is pretty well justified.
That didn't take long to lace... honest...
The Future is light, as in "is-this-box-empty-light" but also feels strong and durable. Seriously, we're backing this to be a contender. We already know that Antoine Griezmann will front the Future 18 series, and he's expected to be joined by a number of other PUMA players as the brand are on the verge of boasting their strongest silo collection in recent memory.
The Future will mark the end of the road for the evoPOWER as PUMA strip things back to an accomplished duo of the One 17.1 and Future. Armed and ready to storm Russia for the 2018 World Cup, PUMA are flying into Moscow on a tailwind of transition and we're on board, big time.
Stay tuned for the full release of the PUMA Future 18 football boots later this week...
