Under Armour launch a new generation of football footwear as the Magnetico Pro replaces the Clutchfit series as the brand's leading control silo for 2018. Revamped with fresh aesthetics and a few technologies upgrades, it's a boot that will spearhead the brand into the 2018 World Cup.
Set to land as the new on-pitch design from this weekend onwards, the Magnetico Pro will be worn by all Under Armour athletes, including; Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold, Arsenal's Granit Xhaka, and Newcastle United's Jacob Murphy.
The Under Armour Magnetico Pro features a re-engineered synthetic upper built with a three-layer construction to deliver the softness of leather, while keeping the weight to a minimum. To be totally honest, on first sight it's not a million miles away from the previous Clutchfit series. It does however, pack a more streamlined aesthetic and a cleaner overall finish that feels like a genuine upgrade on the Clutchfit.
Hues of blue bring the paint work to stylish levels. The combination of "Teal Punch/Moroccan Blue/Tokyo Lemon" might be a mouthful, but's it's pleasing on the eye with smooth vibes. The Magnetico keeps some of the Clutchfit DNA in that it's built for comfort and control – the cushioning footbed absorbs impact, and the new FormTrue upper forms instantly to the foot for a snug fit. No issues here. Smart stuff.
