Ten years, ten moments, captured within one new pair of boots. To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Antoine Griezmann’s professional debut, PUMA have let the Frenchman co-design a pair of special edition boots, and they take his "Win With A Smile" motto as their main inspiration.
Known as PUMA Grizi 10-year edition, the design takes Griezmann’s favoured boot, the Future 4.1 Netfit, as its base in a vibrant “Yellow Alert” colourway. The running theme of the boot is then his Motto, “Win With A Smile”, which appears on the outsole along with a pair of eyes to make a smiley face. This is then reflected in a graphic that spreads across the upper of both boots, forming the smiley when the boots are held together.
Griezmann himself will be wearing a specially customised version of the boot, with the ten life-defining moments personally chosen by himself, told through the medium of emojis across the outsole. It starts with his Real Sociedad debut (02/09/2009), then moves on to the beginning of the relationship with his wife Erika (27/12/2011), signing with PUMA (01/07/2010), signing for Atlético (29/07/2014), his daughter Mia’s birth (08/04/2016), his wedding with Erika (15/06/2017), the Europa League final (16/05/2018), the World cup final (15/07/2018), his son Amaro’s birth (08/04/2019) and finally his signing for Barcelona (12/07/2019).
The Barca man said: “This is a very special boot for me. It tells my story, how I got to get where I am now. Choosing the ten highlights of my life and career has made me think about old times, what I have achieved so far and, I have realised I’m raring for what’s next.”
Antoine Griezmann is set to wear the Grizi 10-year edition against Albania on 7 September, Andorra on 10 September and, Valencia on 14 September.
