PUMA Launch The Future Z 1.1 'Teaser Edition'

Teasing what is likely to be a wider launch in the new year, PUMA have unveiled the all-new, revamped Future Z, designed to enhance the playing style of the world’s most dynamic playmaker – Neymar Jr. And rather unsurprisingly, the Brazilian star is set to be the face of the silo moving forward after debuting the boot in PSG's controversial UCL match with Istanbul Basaksehir last night.

It was fairly clear that the next generation Future was on the way, with the blacked-out prototype having been seen on the feet of various pros over the last couple of months, including Neymar himself. What wasn’t expected though was a release this side of Christmas, but PUMA have leaped into action with what has been dubbed the Future Z ‘Teaser Edition’, suggesting that this release is heralding what will be a wider release in early 2021. What has been confirmed with the launch is that the Paris Saint-Germain forward is set to be the face of the retooled silo, switching after his short stint in the King.

As mentioned, we’ve already had a good look at the Future Z, with players such as Brandon Williams and even Robert Lewandowski putting it through its paces. One thing that stood out instantly about the design was the band that wrapped around the mid foot, and we now know that that is the centre-piece of the boot’s construction. In fact, the Future Z has been built around this adaptive FuzionFit+ compression band, which provides optimal lock-in and support for movement, increasing agility. To further support multidirectional movements the Future Z boasts an innovative 'Z' shaped outsole (hence the name), while GripControl Pro is incorporated for a refined touch and ball control

The FuzionFit+ band is presented in a vibrant volt colourway, which stands out on the white base. It’s forms the main approach to the overall aesthetics of the boot, with all the features and benefits being highlighted in a graphical way, with the big, bold 'Future' branding down the side. This is the Future Z for built for generation Z.

To complement the launch of the 'Tease Edition' Future Z, PUMA have also released an apparel collection, which includes a bespoke Neymar Jr. jersey, shorts, training accessories and off-pitch apparel. The clothing features the signature Neymar Jr. number 10 logo throughout, in bright Brazilian colours and fonts inspired by the pichação graffiti found on the streets of São Paulo.
