New season, new signature boots for Lionel Messi, as adidas roll out the 'Messi Balon Te Adoro’, the first signature edition X Speedportal since its release.
No stranger to the odd signature edition here and there, Lionel Messi gets his latest from adidas, and its a first in the Speedportal silo. Dubbed the ‘Balon Te Adoro’, which translates as “I Love You Ball”, the design follows in the footsteps of the ‘Mi Historia’ signature edition by featuring words across the upper, referencing things that re important to the Argentinian, such as friends, as well as terms that possibly describe him and his playing style, such as “imparables” (unstoppable).
The design is built around the “White/Core Black/Solar Red” colourway, with the white as the base colour and the red popping through that vibrant soleplate and the words, which wrap around the base of the foot, from heel to toe and back again. That then leaves the Three Stripes branding to standout on the forefoot, while Messi’s logo has to settle for an internal role only, featuring on the insole.
