Rounding off the year, Adidas provide a glimpse at what’s to come in 2023 with the reveal of the COPA Pure Teaser SG. The next generation boot is the next in the COPA line, following on from the COPA Sense, and it will be worn by sEt Ham’s Declan Rice.
The COPA line is synonymous with touch and control, going all the way back to its origin with the classic Copa Mundial. Now it takes its next step with the introduction of the COPA Pure, which arrives in a teaser edition that’s available in soft ground only. It comes in a very traditional looking “Core Black/Ftwr White/Gold Met” look, and it will be worn by Declan Rice in the England midfielder’s upcoming fixtures.
Now, we say it will be worn in upcoming fixtures by Declan Rice, but truth is that the West Ham skipper has been wearing them for several weeks now, including at the World Cup. The assumption is that when the boot gets a wider release it will be worn by all COPA athletes, including the likes of Paulo Dybala, although we’ll have to wait on that point.
The COPA Sense features an updated upper construction, which is made from calf leather instead of K-leather. It’s a big move away from the traditional material associated with the COPA line, but we have every faith that it will play just as well as its descendants. The upper has a new shape, designed for optimum touch and feel on the ball, while the soleplate has also been revamped for an improved performance.
As this arrives as a ‘teaser edition’, we’re expecting a full release in the not too distant future.
