Bringing a generation update to one of its staple silos, Umbro have unveiled the all-new Tocco 3, which takes control to new levels thanks to a brand new innovation in FSDX Dyneema leather. It arrives alongside a fresh new colour update for the brand’s other silo, the Velocita Alchemist.
Umbro first introduced the Tocco back in 2020, offering a traditional feel with some added innovation, and that was upgraded to the Tocco 2 in 2022. Now, in a colourway that homages the original, we get a new upgrade for the control silo, bringing a brand new technology to the classic feel. That comes courtesy of FSDX Dyneema Leather on the boot’s forefoot. 15 times stronger than steel yet paper thin, Dyneema fabric is fused with leather to make Tocco 3 boots lightweight and ultra-thin, offering a greater touch sensation on the ball.
Further updates include a microfibre rear quarter to help keep the foot in place and reduce movement within the boot, while a low profile Insock follows the contours of your foot for added comfort. The upper is finished with crafted memory foam cut outs to create a bespoke fit. Finally, the energy efficient Pebax Powered Control+ outsole delivers ultimate grip, with wishbone technology providing maximum energy return.
Accompanying the all-new Tocco 3 is a new look for the Velocita Alchemist. It arrives in a “Malibu Blue/White/Clear Sky” colourway, tying into the accents on the collar of the Tocco.
For the Velocita Alchemist, Umbro continues its partnership with ProWeave, a patented woven technology. This unique weaving method from Texon gives Velocita Alchemist boots increased levels of elasticity and stability in a single layer upper made partially from recycled polyester yarns.
No additional post-weave treatments typically used in conventional boot manufacture are needed, leading to lighter and 35 percent more sustainable boot.
The Umbro Tocco 3 and the new colourway for the Velocita Alchemist are both available globally from 17 March.
