PUMA Release The King Ultimate 'Eclipse'

Typical. You wait for one new King Ultimate colourway, then two come along at the same time. This one’s a more toned down affair that’ll please the purists a bit more, coming under the guise of the Eclipse Pack.

Following the reveal of the all-new King Ultimate back at the beginning of March we’ve had to wait a little while for an alternative to that launch look, and now we get two in one day, with the ‘Pursuit Pack’ colour up being accompanied by the more toned down ‘Eclipse Pack’ option. The latter arrives in a “Puma Black/Silver/Puma Ultra Orange” colourway, joining the previously released Future Ultimate and and Ultra Ultimate in darkened suits of stealth.

For its first foray into darkness, the King Ultimate sees subtle pops of orange on the soleplate, heel and tongue branding, while inside it plays a far more prominent role. The formstripe takes the silver, with an interesting graphic playing out inside.

Tech-wise, the King Ultimate features a K-Better upper. It’s an innovative, environmentally conscious upper material that looks like leather, feels like leather and plays like leather. All that and it’s more environmentally friendly and sustainable.

Recycled from industrial waste, The K-Better material is a synthetic, non-animal base that boasts the same softness as K-leather, whilst being 30 percent thinner, twice as stretchy, providing a better fit for longer, and 10 times more durable.

The stitchless upper is joined by a knitted collar and an external heel cup, all combining to ensure a locked down fit. On the underside, an all-new soleplate has been created, featuring a torsion spine and classic conical studs.
