adidas Set To Re-Release The Adipure 11pro 2

Ten years on from their initial release, adidas look set to re-release of the iconic Adipure 11pro 2, with the Three Stripes teasing the drop on their social media platforms.

The adidas Adipure 11pro 2 boots were originally released at the tail end of 2013, and they went on to gain huge favour for their levels of comfort and performance – particularly with one player. Having made the switch to the new boots upon their release 10 years ago, adidas simply haven’t been able to get Toni Kroos out of them since, try as they might. There’s been no other boot/player dynamic like it in the modern game, with the player insisting on wearing the “White/Black/Blue” colourway and cleaning them himself.

Even the tantalising prospect of being the face of the all-new revolutionary COPA 19+ upon its launch in 2019 wasn’t enough to shift the German international (despite him actually trying them out – that's borderline cheating, that is). Nope, this was a love affair that continues on to this day, with no signs of letting up.

And so, adidas accepted Kroos’ stubborn stance, even customising his version with the soleplate of the Adipure III, which was released back in 2009.

Kroos continued in the boot despite it first being replaced by the 11Pro 3, and then following the 11Pro line being discontinued altogether in 2016. But adidas’ acceptance and If-you-can’t-beat-‘em-join-‘em attitude paid off, with Kroos and his iconic 11Pro’s going on to win more Champions League trophies than most teams. In fact, since wearing the adidas Adipure 11pro in 2014, Toni Kroos' pass accuracy has 𝙉𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙍 dropped below 90 percent in a single league or UCL campaign up to and including 2022. You can see where his affinity for these boots came from.

Now, adidas has posted a short clip on Instagram that alludes to the re-release of a classic boot, and all the hints point at it being the 11Pro. In the clip, you can see the 11Pro – complete with Kroos’ German flag personalisation on the heel – in an image above some mock social media posts, as well as references to “TK” (Toni Kroos) being a legend and noting “Loyalty”. And adidas’ response? The date, 24/10/23. That’s Tuesday. Clicking fingers at the ready, because this is going to be a hype drop that won't hang around.
