Megan Rapinoe played the final match of her glittering career over the weekend, and for the occasion Nike supplied her with one last signature edition Air Zoom Mercurial Vapor XV.
Having played her last game for the US Women’s National Team at the end of last month, lining up for the friendly against South Africa in a specially-produced pair of Air Zoom Mercurial Vapor XV’s from Nike, Megan Rapinoe faced up to the end of her career and a final game with OL Reign this weekend. The match was against Washington Spirit in the NWSL, and Nike once again didn’t let Rapinoe down, providing her with one final signature style for her last dance.
The new custom Nike Mercurial Vapor 15 boots feature a gradient effect between pink at the heel, gradually fading to white at the toe. In the pink colouring is a special graphic, while the upper also boasts a prominent blue Swoosh logo that stretches down the lateral side of the boot, across the forefoot. On the underside, the soleplate transitions from a purple colour at the heel to white in the forefoot, while the stud tips are blue. The words 'Sir P', Megan Rapinoe's nickname, are written near the heel.
