Closer Look At The Nike Air Max Mercurial Tn

We’ve already had plenty of time to get hyped about the Nike Mercurial x Air Max collection after the Air Mercurial Tn was spotted first on the feet of Kylian Mbappe and then Marcus Thuram, but now, with the retail date finally here, we get a closer look at the boot.

Nike kicked off the new year with the reveal of the Mercurial x Air Max collection, bringing together two of their standout product lines in the Air Zoom Mercurial and Air Max plus OG, lining them up alongside one another in uniform “Volt Purple/Total Orange” colourways that acknowledged the heritage of the sneaker. Kylian Mbappe was quick to show off the Superfly IX version on pitch with PSG, while Inter’s Marcus Thuram followed up a few days later in the Vapor XV. Now though, the hype drop’s retail date is here, and we get a nice close up look at the boot.

“Voltage Purple” serves as the base colour, wrapping the upper, complete with that gradient finish so commonly seen on the TN. This is accompanied by tints of “Total Orange” found at the Swoosh and insole. The palm tree-inspired TPU cage retains its place on the Mercurial, while the usual whale tail-shaped shank has been understandably replaced by the Air Zoom Mercurial’s regular soleplate, ensuring it is pitch ready. It’s here that you’ll also find the switch up from “Tn” to “Zm” – an obvious nod to the Air Zoom unit contained within.
