adidas & Stormzy Collaborate For Limited Edition Merky FC Predator 24

Building on their already strong relationship, Adidas and Stormzy have some together for a limited edition #Merky FC Predator 24, which combines the familiar black and yellow of #Merky FC, with reflective elements that shine a light on the legacy of South London footballers.

Closely following the opening of #Merky FC HQ – a multi-purpose centre in Croydon providing opportunities for Londoners across football, music and gaming – adidas and global grime artist Stormzy have partnered once again, and this time its for a unique take on what is arguably the boot of the year, the Predator 24. The #Merky FC Predator 24 will give players across the country the opportunity to show their support for #Merky FC – a partnership between adidas and Stormzy to enhance and protect diverse representation in football.

Standing in contrast to the numerous other Predator 24 releases, the #Merky FC edition sees a black base combining with bright hits of volt yellow (official colourway is “Core Black/White/Lucid Lemon”) for a look that is unmistakably Merky. As if the colours weren’t enough though, the iconic #Merky FC logo features across the tongue and outsole of the boot, so that players can proudly show their support for the initiative.

Speaking about the boot, Stormzy said: “As someone who has always been a huge football fan it’s always been a dream to have my own boot – especially a Predator. This is about giving people a way to get involved in #Merky FC  – from representing what it stands for on the pitch, to directly supporting future ambitions through the donation from the sale of each pair, and I want to see people wearing it with pride.

Steve Marks, Senior Director Brand Communications, adidas said: “Following the launch of #Merky FC and the recent unveiling of the #Merky FC HQ, we are delighted to be providing another way for the football community to be a part of the initiative. This boot brings together two icons, and its going to give players across the country a way of showing that they want to support, and be part of, the change in the game.

The boots are set to be worn by select players in both the men's and women's game, including Alessia Russo and Emile Smith-Rowe, whilst a portion of sales helping to support the everyday running of #Merky FC HQ.

The adidas #Merky FC Predator 24 will be available at prodirectsport.com/soccer from 14 May.
