Diadora Release Iconic 'Baggio Blue' Colourway Of Brasil Boot

30 years on from the 1994 World Cup in USA, where the Italian national team made such an impact and came within a penalty kick of winning the tournament, Diadora are releasing a special blue version of the iconic Brasil boot.

From the off, we get the irony of releasing a boot called Brasil in homage to the Italian team of ’94 when it was the Brazilians that crushed the dreams of Roberto Baggio and his teammates. But that’s what the boot is called, as it always has been, so you’ve just got to accept it. Right, now that’s out of the way, we can focus on what is a beautifully constructed rerelease of sorts of the boot that was worn by both Dino Baggio and Roberto Baggio. We say rerelease, but it’s probably more of an homage in truth, presenting the more modern take of the Brasil that we have today in the Azzurri colourway that those players wore.

The Brasil Italy OG ’94 arrives in a blue base colourway, with white accents playing out through the branding and lacing, the two combining for a perfect Azzurri aesthetic. The Made in Italy edition is a classic version of the Brasil with a few tweaks to suit the modern game, crafted in Italy by the world’s best bootmakers. The upper’s made from ultra-soft, premium leather for supreme comfort and unrivalled touch, and features a water-repellent finish. On the inside, an anatomical insole combines with plush padding to support and stabilise the foot during play.

The Brasil Italy OG ’94 is also joined by a lower budget, Brasil Classico version, which sees the same aesthetics presented on a cheaper construction, complete with enlarged fold-over tongue that replicates the original boot from 1994.
