Once again tapping into their rich history and heritage in the game, Diadora unveil the Match Winner Made In Italy OG x 94 – a luxury take on the original boot worn by Roberto Baggio at the 1994 World Cup.

Diadora are certainly not afraid to dip back into their rich archive to bring back classic boots from the past here and there. In the same week that they brought back the Maximus in an Uber-limited and luxurious gold presentation, they’re also bring back the iconic Match Winner boot from 1994, celebrating its 30th anniversary. Where the Maximus was most commonly associated with Francesco Totti, the Match Winner is intrinsically linked to his compatriot, Roberto Baggio, and this new drop is littered with nods to Il Divin Codino.

Presented in an all-over silver-chrome base look that’s worthy of the OG’s stature, the nods to Baggio appear in blue accents, obviously acknowledging his time with the Azzurri. On the heel you’ll find the number 10 alongside the year, 1994. They are coupled with further nods to Italy, in the form of the famous green, white and red of the nation’s flag.

Tech-wise, the boot features a supersoft, premium leather upper, with quilting all around the forefoot. For grip, the boots feature Diadora’s popular dual-density soleplate with the traditional 4-1-3 forefoot stud setup to aid balance and poise – key attributes of Baggio himself.

As well as the Maximus, the Match Winner follows another rerelease made famous by a Baggio in 1994 – this time Dino – as Diadora brought back the blue colourway of the Brazil. So much goodness from their past, but you'd have to have something about you to wear any of these in a match today.
