Bringing a bolt of brightness to proceedings as we head into the darker winter months, Nike launch the ‘Mad Voltage’ pack. It sees the Air Zoom Mercurial, Phantom and Tiempo lining up with a uniform shock of voltage throughout.

We all know the drill by now: winter’s coming, and with it shorter days and more game’s under the lights. To combat the bleak, the madness continues as Nike introduce the ‘Mad Voltage’ pack, which sees bright volt hits combined with silver hues, the latter nodding back to the Nike Mercurial Vapor I from 2002. It’s a standard lineup execution from the Swoosh, so we get the Air Zoom Mercurial in both Vapor XVI and Superfly X, the Phantom GX and Luna, and the Tiempo Legend X, all carrying those volt and silver combos, but in varying balanced executions.

The Air Zoom Mercurial in both Vapor and Superfly arrives in a simple “Volt/Black” colourway, where the former is by far the dominant colour, wrapped across the entire upper and a large chunk of the soleplate. Black accents feature in the branding, while the silver – apparently not even worthy of recognition in the official colourway – borders the Swoosh for what is a cameo appearance.

The Phantom twins take on more of a split look for their “Metallic Silver/Black/Volt”, with the silver used in the forefoot, accentuating the texture of the Gripknit upper, while the Volt colour wraps around the heel. Black then features as the accent colour for the branding, providing a strong contrast.

Finally, the Tiempo features the same official colourway as the Phantom, so “Metallic Silver/Black/Volt”, although it’s presented in the reverse of the Mercurial, with silver as the base colour, and black and volt taking up supporting roles through the branding.
